Title: Organization Act of Veterans General Hospitals Ch

Content: Article 1
The Veterans Affairs Council shall establish the Veterans General Hospital (hereinafter referred to as “VGH”) to administer the veterans’ medical care and healthcare, medical services for public, medical professionals training, and medical research and development. In principle, VGH shall be named in locus.

Article 2
VGH shall be in charge of the following matters:
1. Veterans’ medical care and healthcare.
2. Public’s medical care and healthcare.
3. Medical professionals’ research and training.
4. Cooperation with other hospitals and research institutes on medicine and medical affairs.
5. Rehabilitation and medical care for people with disabilities.
6. Supervision, coordination and implementation of VGH branches.
7. Handling other affairs related to practice of medicine, operation and management.

Article 3
VGH shall have one Superintendent, concurrently served by Class I senior ranking physician in accordance with the Medical Personnel Regulation; and 2 to 5 Deputy Superintendents, served by Class I senior ranking medical personnel in accordance with the Medical Personnel Act.

Article 4
VGH shall have one Secretary General ranked as Senior Grade 10 to 11.

Article 5
The ranks, grades and classifications and number of positions of VGH staff shall be governed by the personnel establishment table.

Article 6
This Act shall come into force on the date of the Executive Yuan’s order.
